I've been a teacher for the past 17 years. Five in a basic bilingual 1st grade. 2 in an SEI 2nd grade, as well as 1 in a Dual Immersion Kinder and now First. I've also worked as an English Learner Coordinator but now I am happy to be back in the classroom.
Dual Immersion is a waivered program where English speaking students and Spanish speaking English learners are in the same classroom learning how to read and write in both English and Spanish. Our students are bilingual and biliterate by the time they are in 5th grade. Dual Immersion Enthusiast is me!
Being in a dual language classroom we are always in need of translated materials. So here is my version of kid friendly language of the English Language Standards translated into Spanish. I post these up in my classroom so my students can access them and are always aware of what it is we are working on. I post them on red construction paper so my students can easily identify which standards are in Spanish. The English standards I post on blue construction paper and then I laminate these. A tip before laminating....add your name and grade level on the back for easy reference...in case you change grade levels as is common in our district right now. The entire set will be available soon on TPT. Check back by the end of the week.
